Jesus worked very effectiveley outside organized religious programs and institutions to make disciples. He quickly empowered people and released them into leadership roles in which they led others to Christ.
He would bring people into an encounter with Himself and immediatley send the out to be His witnesses. He is giving us this same mission today by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Just as in the early church, we have access to a process of Kingdom Building power that is working in places like China today. In the face of terrible opposition and persecution the growth of the Body of Christ in the underground church in China is explosive and fruitful.
The power of the gospel to transform individuals is contagious. A virus is exponentially spread when people carry the contagion to one another.
As s we pick up the baton from the forerunners and the great cloud of witnesses, we also need a radical shift back to the multiplying and powerful lifestyles of the early church.
n. the degree or point at which lines, objects, etc., converge.
We use the term convergence because it identifies the exact nature of God’s work in the world today. He is converging all the forces of the universe upon specific individuals with an intended purpose of conforming us to the image of Christ. He is gathering to Himself people called to His eternal purpose. This is destiny calling out of eternity and bringing us into the power of the stream of God’s will.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Much of modern church planting consists of new one hour meetings centered on preaching and expecting a revolution. The Holy Spirit is gathering us together organically under the Headship of Christ to manifest Christ among us and become catalysts to the Kingdom fire in our communities.
